Life
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.
God never said life would be easy.
He just promised it would be worth it.

Mackinac Island, Michigan - A Great Place to See!
Recently, as a graduation gift, a friend and I visited Mackinac Island in Michigan for four days. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. Being on the island is like stepping back in time. There are no automobiles allowed, except for the emergency vehicles that are already on the island. Transportation is provided by bicycle or horse and buggy. The island has its own post office, hospital, and school with the largest graduating class being 10 people.
If you like fudge, then Mackinac Island is the place to visit. It seemed like every other store on main street was a fudge shop. In fact, they have something like 15 fudge shops on the island and main street is only 4-5 blocks long. That's a lot of fudge!
We visited the island during the second week in June, and the weather was nice. I do not like hot weather and while we were there it was in the 60's. It rained one day so we decided to take the island tour that day in a covered horse-drawn wagon. Along the way we stopped at a butterfly conservatory. It was beautiful! There were so many butterflies in all sizes and colors and they were so pretty. There was a mirror by the exit because many of them will come right up and land on you, so you need to check for any unauthorized "passengers" before you leave. We spent almost an hour there before finishing the guided tour.
During the tour we were told that there is an actual Michigan State highway that wraps around the island and that it is in the Guinness World Book of Records for being the only highway in the US with no automobile accidents on it. My favorite part of the tour, however, was finding out that the Governor's mansion is on the island and that the current Governor wanted to sell it to one of her friends because she thought it was hers lol! Come to find out, when it was built there was a clause put in that stipulates if the mansion is ever sold, it can only be sold for what it cost to build it; $15,000. With land prices the way they are on the island, it must be worth more than a million dollars!
We had a great time on the island. Four days was a little too long if you are there just to sight see. I enjoyed the laid back days of window shopping and the cool nights sitting in the outdoor 25 person jacuzzi at our hotel. It is a vacation to remember.

Let Me Introduce Myself . . .
Hello. My name is Andrea. I live in Indiana with my husband and two daughters. I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I like bowling, scrap booking, reading, playing pogo and being a Girl Scout leader. I like using PSP to create tags and will be using them on my blog. I have not had the time lately to create anything new because of school and everyday life, but if you see some that you like, click on them and you can save them to use. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am currently looking for a teaching job and hope to find one soon. I was introduced to blogging in college and this is all new to me, but I find it very interesting. My blog is a work in progress. Let me know what you think.
